You can deal a randomly generated percentage more damage when striking foes from behind. The Boons of Chaos offer both a curse and a blessing, with the boon only becoming useful after you have powered through the curse’s effects.Īny Charon Obel’s that you find are worth a randomly generated percentage more. While they can be powerful, they can also be dangerous and lead Zagreus to a premature return home.Ĭonsidering that the point of the game is that with every death, you become stronger, this really isn’t a horrible deal, even if it is incredibly frustrating to die when you’re nearly ready to fight Hades. Unlike many of the other Boons in Hades, Chaos’s Boons are a double-edged sword. You cannot enter a Chaos Gate if your health is too low. This damage can be hard to cope with in the early game, but hey, the whole point of Hades is to die repeatedly. You can generally expect to lose about 20 health every time you enter a gate. When entering a Chaos Gate, you will lose health unless you have the Cosmic Egg. It takes six escape attempts before the gates begin to spawn, so if you’re just starting the game, you’ll have to play a bit before you can meet Chaos and start receiving their Boons. The curses are gone before you know it, and the blessings, more often than not, allow Zagreus to wreak havoc through the varying levels. Chaos is an essential part of the game, and their Boons embody their existence as a deity, encouraging you to cause a bit of chaos in your game by taking both a short-lived curse and a long-lived blessing. The Bottom LineĬhaos’s Boons are absolutely worth it, no matter what point you’ve reached in the story. Plus, those negative consequences started to become less consequential, ending faster than I realized as Zagreus (The Protagonist) blazed through chamber after chamber. Moreover, I learned that the more boons you could get, the better.Ĭonfronting dear old dad with more than a handful of deities to back you up with their super-cool abilities makes that final fight a breeze. Gradually, however, I began to start looking closer at what Chaos was offering in my determination to complete the Chaos and Nyx storylines I realized just how strong their Boons were. There was no good incentive, in my mind, to take a Boon that had a negative consequence when I could wait to get a consequence-free one. When I started being offered Chaos’s boons, I was hesitant to accept them. Yeah I tryed that sort of thing and it doesn't pay off, it doesn't stack well with slower weapons and the damage from the doom is no were near as high as just picking anyone or anything else that buffs the damage of your big for attack, I have a rule of thumb: slow weapons, big damage buffs, preferable aphrodite who for some reason has the highest damage buffs, fast weapons, zeus, maybe dionysus or Artemis (Artemis starts off weak but stick with her and you can make answeet crit build that Mark's everything so your doing 200% extra damage all the time. This Hades Chaos Boons Guide may contain spoilers for Hades. And even then it's mostly the first one that's important. Mostly, though, he's a god I want to see 1-4 times, and no more. That being said he does have 2 other really useful things - a straight "all your attacks do more damage" (16 percent on epic, I think), and "if you have to use death defiance your damage goes up by ~30ish percent (on epic)". Originally posted by MrEntity:Doom on whatever your slow attack is with most weapons is way more than worth it, even if you take nothing else beyond "make doom better" boons. Even hangover stacks up better (funny enough there is a duo for that that makes hangover stack more on weak enemies and then add in sweet surrender for big boy damage) (I will say ares aid is not as bad as I thought, notbas much damage as just attack thought hence notbas good as aids that do ongoing damage effects and let's you attack) but the next run witch I like to call super lucy lovely beam, was brutal, I have NEVER dealt 2000 damage that fast, I melted everything in my path, with boiling blood, ravenous will and sweet surrender it was super crazy amounts of damage, can confirm without a shadow of a doubt: doom sucks a big one compared to everything else.Ĭant say I didn't give it a chance, I got the thing that let's it stack (12 times in my case) got the thing that buffs the damage but makes it takes longer and the dps was not there man. When I went doom I failed mrisable and everything else I had was really great. Ok so I just did a few runs with the exagryph in the Lucifer accpect, one I went full on ares doom the other I went full on aphrodite and it was like night and day.
